How to reset the code fo a craftsman garage door opener Model 139.536SRT1.?

I beg the red button on the back of motor and went to key pad and push in a 4 # cipher. Still nothing. Do I need the dooropen or close or does it question.
Door doesn't puzzle, You have about 6 sec to enter the number. You may have to push "enter" after the company. The code button should be near the sensitivity knobs for raising and closing the door (internal the cover for the light). It could be one or both of them.

The door was working keen. I opened it with a car remote, then is stopped working. Neither car remote or irritate remote will open the unit.
Does the motor still demonstrate noise? Can you open the door by hand?
You likely have one of four problems.
Either the materials kit went bad. You can tell because the opener makes noise but nothing moves.
